Having a look at different artists and their art styles
Jamie Hewlett is a comic book artist and designer who is know for creating the tank girl character and the characters from the virtual band gorrilaz.
I really like his style of art i like how he always manages to make his characters look unique and give them a lot of personality.
This character is #34 Guard Bot and the idea behind this robot is that it is a guard robot that makes sure that all the other worker bots do their work correctly and that they don't malfunction and get out of order.
This character is #75 Coal Bot and the idea behind this robot is that it is one of the coal miner bots that go inside the mine's looking for coal to dig up.
and because of it's working conditions i made the robot look old and rusty from working a long time in the mines.
designs of how the humans dress up, they wear gas masks and masks to protect their faces from all the smoke, steam and pollution that occurs in the city
Environment art to show what the factory's in the city look like: a cluster of small building attached to one another to form one massive factory with all sorts of pipes and chimneys to conduct steam and water.
Environment art with a close up of the main character after the accident.
Lore: Builder bot number 66 also known as The Devil's Machine after someone had decided to paint a face and an extra 6 next to it's number tag.
This robot will plays as the main enemy character that goes berserk within the factory and decides to go after the main character.
Some random monsters (i enjoy drawing monsters)
Some kind of fish/alien species
vampire zombie ?
A robotic lizard looking up at somebody
blindfolded zombie being shot by an arrow

Drawing human proportions body/head/hands 06/10/14
practising human faces/head proportions wasn't easy, i had previously practised this but i don't really enjoy drawing human faces that much so I'm not all that good at it but i hope to improve.
sketching a classmate's face
quickly sketching a classmate's face at a different angle
quickly sketching a classmate's face looking down
Practising head proportions
5 basic steps on drawing a head
observing and sketching different hand postures
some of them are better drawn then others
this was a good exercise
drawing and studying human body proportions
I took it upon myself to learn more about body proportions because I know it's really important for drawing human characters so this was great practice.
more pose practising but I added volumes to the stick figures.

Drawing fabric and creases 29/09/14
this was an interesting but tricky exercise were i needed to draw a sheet covering a chair.
I thought that this exercise was a bit boring because all that we were drawing was a plain sheet.
A close up on the sheet's creases
I should of used harder lines on these close up drawings because they look a bit faded
and it's hard to really understand what it is.
Practise creases on a £10 note.
I found this observational exercise to be quite hard because of the amount of detail
but it happened to be fun trying to draw all the small detail.

Leonardo da vinci was a sculptor, architect, musician, mathematician, inventor, anatomist, botanist, writer and more. He is popularly known for painting the famous Mona Lisa painting and for being one of the first people to actual start learning a lot more about the human body and the way it works and functions. I really enjoy Leonardo da vinci's work, his anatomy drawings and crazy inventions drawings (like the flying machine, the helicopter, the tank ...). His anatomy work is a great resource to study drawing the human body because of it's great amount of detail.
Rodrigo-Vega is well known for is amazing dinosaur concept art and does a lot of weird monsters/creatures concepts and drawings. I really enjoy looking at his work because of all the great amount of small detail that is put onto his creatures. I discovered his art through a game called The Stomping Land which Rodrigo-Vega does the concept art for (it is a game about dinosaurs). I really like how he makes his art work look so realistic and really paying attention to size and anatomy of his creatures.

Concept art for a story and more
Drawing characters and stuff for a small story that i made up on the first day of the course.
The story that i made up is about a coal chucker bot (a robot that throws coal into furnaces) that malfunctions after an accident where he trips on a rock and knocks it's head on an extremely hot coal furnace/generator that melts it's face and it's electrical circuits inside, making the robot malfunction and realise what it has been doing for all these years, and that there is more to this world then working in a coal mining factory, it discovers "life".
This story happens in a steampunk type world where there is airships, all sorts of steam machines and mechanical robots
For now all these sketches are just ideas i am not too sure on what the main character will look like.
I think that the main character will look like an old rusty steam robot that works in a coal mine but i am not quite sure on the design yet.
(i didn't draw the left arm because of lack of space on the page)
and because of it's working conditions i made the robot look old and rusty from working a long time in the mines.
A design of the types of airships that fly around in this world
designs of how the humans dress up, they wear gas masks and masks to protect their faces from all the smoke, steam and pollution that occurs in the city

Theme board of a steampunk world with robots and airships. (made using Adobe Illustrator with images found on google images)
All these images basically represent the world that my story happens in.
A world filled with airships, steam machines, robots, very populated cities with factories polluting the sky with smoke and steam.
I really like the way this imaginary world looks.
Digitally painting my concepts with Photoshop.
It's the first time I have tried to use Photoshop to do digital painting so I'm not all that skilled at it so my paintings look a bit rough, I have been looking online for tutorials on how to digitally paint.
Painting in my environmental concept art (factory) using Photoshop
As a very first painting done in Photoshop I think that I doesn't look all that bad, but I still would of like to see it with more shadow and lighting to show depth.
Painting in The devil's machine
I'm really not happy with this painting because it is way too rough and unfinished but this was mainly because I have very little knowledge of using Photoshop and I was having multiple issues with the program.
Evaluation
What i was asked to do for this project was to create some concept art of people, places and objects for a short story that we had made up.
The way i decided to approach the task is to first draw all of my concept art and then scan all the drawings on to a computer and paint over them in Photoshop, the only problem with this is that i didn't have much skill or knowledge on how to paint using Photoshop so i don't have many painted images and the ones i do have look rough and unfinished.
I personally think the my final outcomes of the project aren't very successful because i don't have enough painting development and the paintings look unfinished but i am happy with my sketches.
What was difficult, was using Photoshop to paint, because i had many issues and problems with the program which slow down my work process.
If I had more time to continue and improve this project I would learn a lot more about Photoshop to fix my issues with it and then I would paint in a lot more of my concept art, because I quickly ran out of time to paint in more of my drawings because of bad time management.

Extra random drawings/practising
Some extra stuff that i have been doing in college for practise or just for fun.
These 2 drawings were done for Unit 53 2d animation
It was character development for my animation.
This is a sketch of a photograph i saw online and i decided to draw it to practice human anatomy and pose.

harmony and dissonance 03/11/14
Looking at what harmony and dissonance is in Art
Harmony in a painting is where all the elements of the painting go well together and it's all balanced example: a painting of a forest where there is flowers, trees, bushes and tall grass, all these elements of the painting go well together because they are all green and are all found within a forest it all fits together this is harmony.
Dissonance in a painting is where certain elements of the painting don't go well with some of the other elements Example: a painting of a modern house next to an old run down house, they don't fit together one house is very new and looks great and the other house is old and in ruins the two houses don't fit together this is dissonance(but this doesn't mean that it is a bad painting).
Looking at dissonance and harmony outside and around my college and taking pictures of it and then doing quick rough sketches.
The college parking place has harmony because it has things that is likley to be found in a parking place.
doing a quick rough sketch of the parking place.
Quick rough sketch of the college building.
This place has harmony because nothing is out of place it all seems to fit together and looks well with all it's elements.

Perspective drawing
Practising 1 point perspective to help us practice are visual and 3Dimensional skills when drawing 8/09/14
I found this exercise to be fun and enjoyable but i had already done this kind of exercise in the past
but doing it again still helped me understand it more.
but doing it again still helped me understand it more.
Practising 2 point perspective by drawing a simple house
Practising 2 point perspective by drawing buildings next to a road
I found this exercise to be easy, fun and enjoyable.
Practising 1 point perspective by drawing the interior of a house
this was a good exercise to practise 3d environmental interior design
i enjoyed doing this exercise
Practising 1 point perspective in the college corridor
Practising 1 point perspective in the college classroom
Practising 1 point perspective in the college 6th floor lobby
Exercises done at home
After learning 1 point and 2 point perspective i wanted to learn 3 point perspective so i searched up on the internet how it was done and i did a little bit of practising and i also practise a bit of shading.
I found this to be quite simple.
Practising 3 point perspective by drawing 4 tall buildings
Practising 3 point perspective by drawing 3 tall looking blocks
